When should I start to plan my next trip?

Figuring out the ideal time to reach out to me to begin planning your next trip varies based on the type of trip you want to go on.

Here are my recommendations for five of the most popular trips that I book:

1. International Trips

Planning an international trip often requires more time due to varied transportation options, multiple accommodations and individual cultural experiences.

I recommend reaching out to me 12 to 18 months in advance. This allows me time for researching accommodations with your specific requests, booking train and car transfers as well as finding guided tours. We can do it faster, but the more time we have to plan, the more options you have to choose from.

2. Domestic Trips

For a domestic trip, we can generally start planning 3 to 6 months in advance. However, it depends on the specific destination and whether you plan to travel during a busy season. If you're traveling during holidays or popular events, starting earlier is advisable to secure the best prices and availability.

3. Cruises

Cruise itineraries, especially for popular destinations or during peak seasons, can fill up quickly.

The booking window opens about 18 months prior to sailing, and it varies by cruise line. I usually get these announcements in advance so I can provide you with better cabin choices and early bird discounts.

If you're still debating on where to sail and when, there are still great staterooms and itineraries 9 to 12 months before sailing.

4. Theme Parks

Planning a trip to a theme park, such as Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or Universal Studios, should ideally begin 6 to 9 months in advance. This allows me to secure accommodations, dining, and help plan your itinerary while keeping an eye out for special events and promotions.

5. All Inclusive Resorts

Planning an all-inclusive trip, where accommodations, meals, drinks, and often activities are bundled into one package, may seem simple.

But with over 100 properties in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area alone, filtering through to find the perfect place for you in any oceanfront, tropical area can be daunting!

I like to get started 6 to 12 months in advance so we can explore different options, compare prices, and take advantage of early booking discounts.
